What A Week!

The week started out normal with work and a prediction for a snow storm.  By Wednesday morning we were sure we were going to see some significant snow.  It started snowing shortly after 9:00am.  It would not stop until the next morning.  We worked till 4:30pm and then went and picked up mom and brought her to our house.  We took the Chevy 4x4 that day, good thing.  We ended up with 10 inches or more of snow.

Thursday consisted of cleaning the driveway, work and more cleaning of the driveway.  I took mom back home then picked Michelle up from work.  I did more snow throwing when we got home.  I was really sore after that.  Very wet and heavy snow.

NC Nailed Chain Ring: I made it to the post office here in town on Thursday finally.  I picked up my new chain ring for the Vortex.

30 tooth Narrow Wide.

Appears to be very good quality and is going to be a good match for the Vortex. I will try to install it today after I do some more snow throwing.  We are supposed to have a couple of warm days and possibly another storm this week.

Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Summer Vacation: Day 10, Heading Home.

Sunday would be a long day of travel as we would make the trek home in one day.  Still shorter than driving from Marquette. We had breakfast and started to pack up.  I had put the bikes on the van Saturday evening while the grill was heating up and loaded a few things up.  We managed to get on the around just a few minutes after 12:00pm.   Michelle would take the first leg of the drive at the wheel of the van and I would rest.  We made a stop at a rest area in Manistique and I took a few photos. A lighthouse for Michelle.  A mouse in a tuxedo! We got back on the road and stopped at another rest area.   Very cool! Brendan made a friend. The were not to bad. Our next stop would be St. Ignace.  We wanted to eat at Clyde's Drive In.  However, after arriving the place was packed.  So we went to B.C. Pizza again.  After lunch we made our way to Castle Rock as we were not able to climb it on o...

Independence Day

Another busy weekend and celebration of our country's independence.  I got a short ride in on Friday morning.  We then were preparing for a wedding.  Barb and Steve, a couple at our church were getting married and the ceremony/reception would be at Dawn and Reuben's house.  Reuben performed the ceremony and I was asked to do the photography.  This worked out great as I had purchased a used Sony DSLR camera on eBay and got to test it out.  It was a very nice ceremony and celebration with our church family and friends.   You may kiss the bride!   We then stuck around and all of us went to the fireworks at the Clio Park to cap off the evening.  We got home late and went right to bed.   I slept in a bit on Saturday morning and got up to watch the start of the Tour de France.  It was a good stage with a sprint finish and a bad crash that took Mark Cavendish out of the race.  I then ventured out on a 23 mile ride o...

Brendan's Last Birthday Party

So today we had another party for Brendan's Birthday.  We also celebrated MacKenzie's birthday today (hers was yesterday).  We had Michelle's parents here also.  This was about the 6th birthday celebration for Brendan.  Michelle made some really cool cakes for the two of them.   Brendan's Turtle Cake     Mackenzie's Owl Cake   Everyone arrived and we had a great meal and watched the Michigan/Michigan State game.  Very close game with Michigan pulling out the win in the last seconds.  There was cake and ice cream and the traditional Happy Birthday song.
