As I said in my previous post I had purchased a few things and would be introducing and reviewing them here. Up next are:
Surly Rim Strips:
Surly Rim Strips:
These rime strips are designed for 80mm rims. They also make them for 65mm and 100mm rims. They come in several colors. These are red and will go on the wheels that I have on the Vortex. They are light weight, easy to work with and very durable. I have these in various colors on most of my fat bike wheels.
Topeak Joe Blow Fat Tire Pump:
Following is from the Topeak Website:

The first floor pump exclusively designed for low pressure fat tire bikes. Massive oversized barrel is 1.5 times larger than standard floor pumps and delivers big air volume to fill fat tire bikes quickly. This appears to be a very well built pump and is designed specifically for fat tires. I have been in need of one of these for some time. A standard pump will work, however it requires a great deal of effort. I have also used a compressor with less than good results. Plus I got a great deal on Amazon.
The only part that seems to not be up to standard would be the base. It is made of plastic. This pump is actually the second one I received.
First pump was damaged.
I received the first pump and found the base damaged upon opening the package. In the box was information from the company that it was purchased from. I sent an email to Niagara Cycles customer service and received a response by the end of the day. I had included pictures of the pump. They replaced the pump and told me not to send back the damaged pump. Great customer service! Thank you Niagara Cycle.
So I put the pump base back together with some duct tape and will keep it in the garage and the new one in the basement.
I will give a review after I have a few uses on the pump.
