RCA Cambio 10 Review

On Christmas I received the RCA Cambio 10, tablet with keyboard.  I had put it on my Christmas list because I wanted something portable, lightweight and able to use for downloading photos without having to carry my full size laptop.

Folded shut, keyboard protects the screen.

Open as a laptop.

Following are some specs:

Windows 10
Intel Z3735 Processor
2GB Ram
6 Hour Battery Life
1xDC in
1xMicrophone
1xHeadset
1xMini HDMI
1xMicro USB 2.0
1xUSB 2.0
SD Card Slot for additional Storage.  I have a 64GB in this for storage.

I have used this now nearly every day since Christmas and it performs very well. It runs very fast and plays videos well.  I have done a little experiment and downloaded iTunes onto the machine.  It took up a great deal of space on the internal storage, however it did not slow it down.  I have also downloaded Microsoft Movie Maker.  I don't plan to store much on the machine, but on vacation I will be able to download my video and photos and do some editing.

Loaded in the apps is Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint as read only apps.  The keyboard is small and is very difficult to do any regular typing.  I can type quick enough by only using a couple of fingers.  But with only have read only on Microsoft it is really not an issue.

The mouse pad is a little sensitive, but still works well.  I can also use a standard mouse via the USB.  I have not detached the tablet from the keyboard as I really prefer a laptop.

I need to purchase a MiniHDMI to HDMI cable so that I can test how this will work for playing movies/video on the TV.  I have connected USB and moved photos back and forth and it works well.

So if you are looking for something small and portable for web browsing and other tasks you can not beat this Windows tablet for the price.

Summer Vacation: Day 10, Heading Home.

Sunday would be a long day of travel as we would make the trek home in one day.  Still shorter than driving from Marquette. We had breakfast and started to pack up.  I had put the bikes on the van Saturday evening while the grill was heating up and loaded a few things up.  We managed to get on the around just a few minutes after 12:00pm.   Michelle would take the first leg of the drive at the wheel of the van and I would rest.  We made a stop at a rest area in Manistique and I took a few photos. A lighthouse for Michelle.  A mouse in a tuxedo! We got back on the road and stopped at another rest area.   Very cool! Brendan made a friend. The were not to bad. Our next stop would be St. Ignace.  We wanted to eat at Clyde's Drive In.  However, after arriving the place was packed.  So we went to B.C. Pizza again.  After lunch we made our way to Castle Rock as we were not able to climb it on o...

End of Summer

The Best Time to Bike! On Saturday I traveled with Raymond to the Bear Claw Epic.  This was the second annual race and the second time up there for Raymond and I.  We got there with plenty of time to spare and got ready to go. Farley ready to go. I registered for Beginner Fat Bike or at least I thought so?  I felt pretty good and knowing that I only had one lap to do I went all out.  I passed several riders through the race and felt I did pretty good.  This course has a lot of climbing and rewards you with some nice downhills. After I finished my race I put on a fresh shirt and went out on the course with the camera and my new lens.  I took over 400 pictures and headed back to the start finish after Raymond finished his race. Raymond on his second lap. And the final climb. The beginner awards were going on and they announced my name as first place for Beginner Men 50-59.  I was surprised, but did not protest.  Aft...
