Marquette Day 6

We woke up Friday morning and did not feel like getting out of bed.  We managed to get up and have a little breakfast.  The sky was not looking good and the forecast was not any better.  Michelle and I decided to take our chances and go on our date.  We headed out on the bikes and rode to the Marquette City limit and back.  It was a nice ride and a great date!
Michelle's longest ride of the year.

Shortly after returning it started to rain.  It would rain till we went for the spaghetti feed and packet pick up.  We got our race packets and had dinner.  We walked the expo floor a little.  I took some photos but lost them yesterday when I reset my phone.  The best photos were of the Salsa demo bikes.

We left the arena and went to the Holiday Inn so the kids could swim and we visited a little more with the Leach's.  We called it quits early and headed back to the house to try and get a good night sleep for race day.

Summer Vacation: Day 10, Heading Home.

Sunday would be a long day of travel as we would make the trek home in one day.  Still shorter than driving from Marquette. We had breakfast and started to pack up.  I had put the bikes on the van Saturday evening while the grill was heating up and loaded a few things up.  We managed to get on the around just a few minutes after 12:00pm.   Michelle would take the first leg of the drive at the wheel of the van and I would rest.  We made a stop at a rest area in Manistique and I took a few photos. A lighthouse for Michelle.  A mouse in a tuxedo! We got back on the road and stopped at another rest area.   Very cool! Brendan made a friend. The were not to bad. Our next stop would be St. Ignace.  We wanted to eat at Clyde's Drive In.  However, after arriving the place was packed.  So we went to B.C. Pizza again.  After lunch we made our way to Castle Rock as we were not able to climb it on o...

Brendan's Last Birthday Party

So today we had another party for Brendan's Birthday.  We also celebrated MacKenzie's birthday today (hers was yesterday).  We had Michelle's parents here also.  This was about the 6th birthday celebration for Brendan.  Michelle made some really cool cakes for the two of them.   Brendan's Turtle Cake     Mackenzie's Owl Cake   Everyone arrived and we had a great meal and watched the Michigan/Michigan State game.  Very close game with Michigan pulling out the win in the last seconds.  There was cake and ice cream and the traditional Happy Birthday song.
