Church Camp Day 3 and 4

Day 3 was interesting.  We had breakfast and then JJ and I headed out on the bikes.  We did 15.5 miles.  It was a nice ride.  We seen a couple deer, snapping turtle and turkeys.

We got back from the ride, showered and had lunch. I then headed for home to do some laundry and head to mom's for the weekly visit.  Michelle had some issues at camp and I got back around 10:15pm.
 
 
Friday started out good with a nice breakfast and I did the devotion.  I stayed at camp and helped Michelle and did some bike maintenance.  We had lunch and JJ and I went out for our ride.  We did a little exploring and ended up with 17.5 miles.

We got back and showered. Then it was time to get supper ready.  Mom and dad came out again to visit and we also had some other kids join us.  We did devotion right after supper.
 


 
A camp fire was started and then we played Apples to Apples.  Another good day.

Summer Vacation Day 4: The ER

Day four started out with beautiful weather.  We had breakfast and Michelle took Brendan fishing.  I decided I would take a ride on the bike and do a little recon for a family bike ride. I set off east to ride toward Rapid River.  I rode around the the edge of the bay and took a few pictures. Dunes on the edge of Gladstone. This was around 4-5 miles out of town in a small subdivision. The photo above is of a small river I crossed, unfortunately I cannot remember the name.  I thought I found a bike trail that would be nice for all of us.  Unfortunately it was swampy and not kept up.  I headed back to Gladstone and met Michelle and Brendan out on the fishing dock. I sat with them for a while and Brendan caught this. This is a Gobi.  An invasive species of the Great Lakes. Summer Vacation: Day 8, Marquette

Day out started out cool, cloudy and windy.  It would stay like that the entire day.  After Michelle got up we took a little walk in the park by the bay.  It was very cool and returned to the house.  The plan for the day was to go to Marquette to visit Raymond and his family and have dinner with them. I received a text from Raymond that informed me the weather was not good there and it had not been for the entire week.  It had been very cold and windy.  He told me to bring warm clothes and we would probably be inside. We arrived at there location just after 3:00pm and it was cold and windy.  They told us it had been worse earlier in the day.  After talking for a while Angel started to make burgers and hot dogs on the grill.  We walked down to the beach with Raymond to discover that the beach was not really there.  The water has been so high this year and the waves were coming in so hard there was no beach.  They said they h...

Summer Vacation 2017

We started our vacation our vacation five days ago after our regular Thursday visit with my mom.  The first leg of the trip was to drive as far north as Gaylord.  We arrived in Gaylord close to 9:00pm.  We checked into the hotel and went next door to a restaurant and grabbed a snack.  We then went back to the room and settled in. We took our time getting on the road Friday morning.  Our destination was Marquette and we decided to make a little detour.  Michelle had wanted to go to Petosky for a long time so we would stop there.  On the way we did a drive through Boyne Mountain.  I had not been to Boyne since I lasted raced there.  That has to be at least ten years.  It has grown and changed a lot in that time.
