Church Camp Day 2

We had beautiful weather for our first full day of camp.  We had great food once again and had our first Champion Activity, Putt-Putt Golf.

We wrapped up the night with our fireside devotion.  My lovely wife had the message for the evening.  It was from the book of John.  Jesus turned water into wine.  She then placed a focus on the Fruits of the Spirit.  Tonight it was on self control, very appropriate for the day.

Ride Report: JJ and I did the 13 mile loop this morning.  He did good and he feels he needs to ride the mountain bike for the rest of his Ore to Shore training.  I think he is right.  Tomorrow we will do 15 miles.  We will be up to 20 by the end of the week.  Then we will need to pick up from there when we get home.

Summer Vacation: Day 10, Heading Home.

Sunday would be a long day of travel as we would make the trek home in one day.  Still shorter than driving from Marquette. We had breakfast and started to pack up.  I had put the bikes on the van Saturday evening while the grill was heating up and loaded a few things up.  We managed to get on the around just a few minutes after 12:00pm.   Michelle would take the first leg of the drive at the wheel of the van and I would rest.  We made a stop at a rest area in Manistique and I took a few photos. A lighthouse for Michelle.  A mouse in a tuxedo! We got back on the road and stopped at another rest area.   Very cool! Brendan made a friend. The were not to bad. Our next stop would be St. Ignace.  We wanted to eat at Clyde's Drive In.  However, after arriving the place was packed.  So we went to B.C. Pizza again.  After lunch we made our way to Castle Rock as we were not able to climb it on o...

Brendan's Last Birthday Party

So today we had another party for Brendan's Birthday.  We also celebrated MacKenzie's birthday today (hers was yesterday).  We had Michelle's parents here also.  This was about the 6th birthday celebration for Brendan.  Michelle made some really cool cakes for the two of them.   Brendan's Turtle Cake     Mackenzie's Owl Cake   Everyone arrived and we had a great meal and watched the Michigan/Michigan State game.  Very close game with Michigan pulling out the win in the last seconds.  There was cake and ice cream and the traditional Happy Birthday song.
