Bikes and Birthdays

Yesterday was the kickoff of the birthday weekend.  We went to Genji's, it was a lot of fun.  We had a full table.  The cook was great!

This morning I woke up and started working on laundry and then headed for the bike shop.  My goal was to finish the Fat Bike.

The Green Machine was pretty much stripped down.

Donor bike! Which will be JJ's.

I moved over the 1x10 and the brakes from the Access.  I got everything together only to find the chain was not long enough.  So I will have to pick up a new chain for the bike.

Finished product with short chain.

I will take better pictures when I get the new chain on.  Will give full details on the build at that time also.  Next week will get the bike out on the road when I have the new chain.

Tonight Michelle and I are going to a wedding.  We gave JJ a UNO gift card and some cash so he can take Kayla on a date.  Brendan is going to a friends house.  Tomorrow will be the celebration with mom at Backwood's, cake and ice cream at our house.

End of Summer

The Best Time to Bike! On Saturday I traveled with Raymond to the Bear Claw Epic.  This was the second annual race and the second time up there for Raymond and I.  We got there with plenty of time to spare and got ready to go. Farley ready to go. I registered for Beginner Fat Bike or at least I thought so?  I felt pretty good and knowing that I only had one lap to do I went all out.  I passed several riders through the race and felt I did pretty good.  This course has a lot of climbing and rewards you with some nice downhills. After I finished my race I put on a fresh shirt and went out on the course with the camera and my new lens.  I took over 400 pictures and headed back to the start finish after Raymond finished his race. Raymond on his second lap. And the final climb. The beginner awards were going on and they announced my name as first place for Beginner Men 50-59.  I was surprised, but did not protest.  Aft...

Thanksgiving and More!

Thanksgiving has come and gone.  We are now full on into the Christmas rush.  So let me bring you up to date. The forecast for Thanksgiving was for some snow.  So I went and got mom and dad for the celebration and it did snow.  We had the entire family over and it was a full house.  We all enjoyed a delicious meal and the Lion's even won! The men are relaxing. Mom's hitting the bottle!   Everyone cleared out around 9pm or so.  Michelle and I then went through the Black Friday adds in preparation of our shopping trip.     We were up early and made it to the Family Chirstian Book Store around 6:15am.  We then went to Sam's and Walmart.  We stopped and ate to fuel up for the next round.  Well the next round did not happen and we went home for a nap.  I woke up after a short nap and unloaded most of the goodies. We then started working around the house in preperation of setting up the Christmas Tree. ...
