Post Iceman

So the bike racing season is over and I have taken time off the bike, but not away from the bikes.  This is the time of year they get cleaned and changes are made.  So some of the bikes have been updated and others are taken apart.  I made some changes to my race bike and hope to ride it the day before Thanksgiving.  Will try to get some of the guys together for a mountain bike ride.  I came across a guy trying to trade his Reba Race fork for a rigid carbon fork.  I just happened to have what he was looking for and we made a trade.  We both got a good deal.  Can't wait to try it.  I then made some changes to my gravel bike.  Not done with it, but it will be good for now.  I will post pics and give reviews when I actually get to ride both of them.

I  cut wood all weekend.  We discovered Brendan had head lice after a call from MacKenzie's dad Scott.  That led to a lot of laundry on top of everything else we had going.

Michelle has a grand plan for the upstairs and the boys room.  That is coming together and she is incredible at these things.

Thanksgiving is next week and that is hard to believe.  I can't wait for black friday.  I did it for the first time last year with Michelle.  It was a lot of fun.  Just spending time with her is always fun.

So that is a short update and I will try very hard to do this more often so there are not such long gaps in posts.  Have a great week everyone.

End of Summer

The Best Time to Bike! On Saturday I traveled with Raymond to the Bear Claw Epic.  This was the second annual race and the second time up there for Raymond and I.  We got there with plenty of time to spare and got ready to go. Farley ready to go. I registered for Beginner Fat Bike or at least I thought so?  I felt pretty good and knowing that I only had one lap to do I went all out.  I passed several riders through the race and felt I did pretty good.  This course has a lot of climbing and rewards you with some nice downhills. After I finished my race I put on a fresh shirt and went out on the course with the camera and my new lens.  I took over 400 pictures and headed back to the start finish after Raymond finished his race. Raymond on his second lap. And the final climb. The beginner awards were going on and they announced my name as first place for Beginner Men 50-59.  I was surprised, but did not protest.  Aft...

Summer Vacation: Day 10, Heading Home.

Sunday would be a long day of travel as we would make the trek home in one day.  Still shorter than driving from Marquette. We had breakfast and started to pack up.  I had put the bikes on the van Saturday evening while the grill was heating up and loaded a few things up.  We managed to get on the around just a few minutes after 12:00pm.   Michelle would take the first leg of the drive at the wheel of the van and I would rest.  We made a stop at a rest area in Manistique and I took a few photos. A lighthouse for Michelle.  A mouse in a tuxedo! We got back on the road and stopped at another rest area.   Very cool! Brendan made a friend. The were not to bad. Our next stop would be St. Ignace.  We wanted to eat at Clyde's Drive In.  However, after arriving the place was packed.  So we went to B.C. Pizza again.  After lunch we made our way to Castle Rock as we were not able to climb it on o...
