Sunday Funday!

Michelle and I were still not feeling the best when we got up this morning.  I needed to go to Begick's Nursery to pick up bark for mom and deliver it to her house (a project we have been working on there).  Still was having a hard time with my body temperature.  I was either really hot or really cold on the way there.  The rain was supposed to hold off till afternoon but decided to come early.  Begick's was great and loaded the bark for me and when I got to mom's I was able to pull the truck in the garage and unload. I had a nice visit with mom and headed home.

Michelle ordered take out at Pando House and I picked it up on the way home.  We had a nice meal when I got home and then Michelle took a nap.  I worked on some laundry and then headed for the basement.  I had been working on a friends bike and was able to finish that.  Then it was time to clean up the bike shop.  I got the cleaning done and then did some more photos of items to go on eBay.  With a little time left I started to prep the Green Machine for it's new fork.  I pulled the front wheel and changed the disc rotor. That is all I will do for now until the fork arrives.

I watched the Lions play the Packers and they won!  They looked good today.  Now U of M is another story.  Brady Hoke has to go!  I was not a proponent of his however I felt he deserved 4 years to bring in players that he recruited.  Hard to believe that the best QB he can find is Gardner?  He finally pulled him and put in Morris.  The kid threw an interception in his first set.  Game snaps are a lot different than practice!  I give the kid credit though.  He made a nice open field tackle on the guy that made the interception and stopped a sure TD.  Not having much hope for this season.

That puts the wrap on another weekend.

Summer Vacation Day 4: The ER

Day four started out with beautiful weather.  We had breakfast and Michelle took Brendan fishing.  I decided I would take a ride on the bike and do a little recon for a family bike ride. I set off east to ride toward Rapid River.  I rode around the the edge of the bay and took a few pictures. Dunes on the edge of Gladstone. This was around 4-5 miles out of town in a small subdivision. The photo above is of a small river I crossed, unfortunately I cannot remember the name.  I thought I found a bike trail that would be nice for all of us.  Unfortunately it was swampy and not kept up.  I headed back to Gladstone and met Michelle and Brendan out on the fishing dock. I sat with them for a while and Brendan caught this. This is a Gobi.  An invasive species of the Great Lakes. After a few minutes I started back to the house.  On the way I started to have some chest pain.  After showering it had not let up. ...

Independence Day

Another busy weekend and celebration of our country's independence.  I got a short ride in on Friday morning.  We then were preparing for a wedding.  Barb and Steve, a couple at our church were getting married and the ceremony/reception would be at Dawn and Reuben's house.  Reuben performed the ceremony and I was asked to do the photography.  This worked out great as I had purchased a used Sony DSLR camera on eBay and got to test it out.  It was a very nice ceremony and celebration with our church family and friends.   You may kiss the bride!   We then stuck around and all of us went to the fireworks at the Clio Park to cap off the evening.  We got home late and went right to bed.   I slept in a bit on Saturday morning and got up to watch the start of the Tour de France.  It was a good stage with a sprint finish and a bad crash that took Mark Cavendish out of the race.  I then ventured out on a 23 mile ride o...
