The New Year

We are over a week into the New Year now and things are moving along.  We had a good time with our biking friends on New Years Eve.  Everyone that was invited showed up and we had a great time with great food and our friends.  The evening went by quick.

We are back to work and this is our first full week of work.  It seems that it is going slow, but we are half way through the week already.  I started working out again and am trying to stay on a regular schedule with it.  I have rode the trainer three times since New Years day and plan on riding this evening.  Really itching to get outdoors on the bike.  Maybe Saturday, weather is predicting 54 degrees!

We upgraded our satellite TV to the Dish Hopper on Sunday and really like it.  We will be adding internet on Friday.  No more slow wireless Verizon hot spot!  In Verizon's defense it works great in the city.  Where we are at is on the edge of 4G coverage and it only works well early in the morning or late at night.

Next on my agenda is the MMBA Annual Expo on January 27.  We will be getting two tables again this year.  Weather and time permitting I would like to due the Lake Orion High School Winter Race on February 2.  It has been several years since I did this and would like to get back.

I guess that brings us up to date.  Have a great week.

End of Summer

The Best Time to Bike! On Saturday I traveled with Raymond to the Bear Claw Epic.  This was the second annual race and the second time up there for Raymond and I.  We got there with plenty of time to spare and got ready to go. Farley ready to go. I registered for Beginner Fat Bike or at least I thought so?  I felt pretty good and knowing that I only had one lap to do I went all out.  I passed several riders through the race and felt I did pretty good.  This course has a lot of climbing and rewards you with some nice downhills. After I finished my race I put on a fresh shirt and went out on the course with the camera and my new lens.  I took over 400 pictures and headed back to the start finish after Raymond finished his race. Raymond on his second lap. And the final climb. The beginner awards were going on and they announced my name as first place for Beginner Men 50-59.  I was surprised, but did not protest.  Aft...

Summer Vacation: Day 10, Heading Home.

Sunday would be a long day of travel as we would make the trek home in one day.  Still shorter than driving from Marquette. We had breakfast and started to pack up.  I had put the bikes on the van Saturday evening while the grill was heating up and loaded a few things up.  We managed to get on the around just a few minutes after 12:00pm.   Michelle would take the first leg of the drive at the wheel of the van and I would rest.  We made a stop at a rest area in Manistique and I took a few photos. A lighthouse for Michelle.  A mouse in a tuxedo! We got back on the road and stopped at another rest area.   Very cool! Brendan made a friend. The were not to bad. Our next stop would be St. Ignace.  We wanted to eat at Clyde's Drive In.  However, after arriving the place was packed.  So we went to B.C. Pizza again.  After lunch we made our way to Castle Rock as we were not able to climb it on o...
