The Last Three Weeks

It has been three weeks since my last post.  In that time a lot has happened.  Jay Jay had his last week of school which included his first and last Spring Choir Concert.

"It's Alright"

With Mrs Worden.

The concert was excellent!  This is a very talented group.  The boys sang "It's Alright" accompanied by Mr. Austin.  It was awesome.  Pierce Tindall was the lead.  At the start of the concert they recognized all the seniors with their parents so we had a brief appearance on stage.

Next up was the commencement on Thursday evening at the Birch Run Expo Center.  This was a very exciting day.  The south side of the expo center was nearly filled to capacity.  Unfortunately we did not get any pictures of Michelle and I with Jay Jay at the end.

Birch Run HS Class of 2016

Michelle and her boys.

Jay Jay and I.

Grandma and Grandpa.

Really wish dad could of been here to see this.  Mom did not come out, would have been to much walking for her and hard to seat her at the center.

After this it was all about preparation for the graduation party.  It was non stop with painting and cleaning.  We put new mulch in the landscape and really cleaned up the yard.  The entire first floor of the house was painted as well as the garage.  The party was great with perfect weather.  The food was excellent and everyone had a great time.  We did not even think to get any pictures of the party.  The day after we just crashed.  After working so hard we just rested and slept in.  Michelle and I ended up taking Monday off of work to finish clean up and to start getting the house back in order.  There is still work to do.

Then this past Wednesday was Brendan's 4th Grade Graduation.  He was very excited.  They had a potluck picnic after that was very nice.

Brendan was recognized for working with Autistic classmates.  He does really well with other kids.  He has a really big heart.

Now we hope that things calm down so we can get back to normal.  The kittens have really grown and just full of energy.

Luna is huge!

So that gets us close to where we are now.  There will be more later when I have a chance to get some photos and post again.

Summer Vacation: Day 10, Heading Home.

Sunday would be a long day of travel as we would make the trek home in one day.  Still shorter than driving from Marquette. We had breakfast and started to pack up.  I had put the bikes on the van Saturday evening while the grill was heating up and loaded a few things up.  We managed to get on the around just a few minutes after 12:00pm.   Michelle would take the first leg of the drive at the wheel of the van and I would rest.  We made a stop at a rest area in Manistique and I took a few photos. A lighthouse for Michelle.  A mouse in a tuxedo! We got back on the road and stopped at another rest area.   Very cool! Brendan made a friend. The were not to bad. Our next stop would be St. Ignace.  We wanted to eat at Clyde's Drive In.  However, after arriving the place was packed.  So we went to B.C. Pizza again.  After lunch we made our way to Castle Rock as we were not able to climb it on o...

End of Summer

The Best Time to Bike! On Saturday I traveled with Raymond to the Bear Claw Epic.  This was the second annual race and the second time up there for Raymond and I.  We got there with plenty of time to spare and got ready to go. Farley ready to go. I registered for Beginner Fat Bike or at least I thought so?  I felt pretty good and knowing that I only had one lap to do I went all out.  I passed several riders through the race and felt I did pretty good.  This course has a lot of climbing and rewards you with some nice downhills. After I finished my race I put on a fresh shirt and went out on the course with the camera and my new lens.  I took over 400 pictures and headed back to the start finish after Raymond finished his race. Raymond on his second lap. And the final climb. The beginner awards were going on and they announced my name as first place for Beginner Men 50-59.  I was surprised, but did not protest.  Aft...
