Easter 2015

We had two separate Easter Celebrations this year.  Mom was out on Saturday and today we spent the afternoon at Michelle's parents.

I picked up mom around 12:00pm yesterday and we headed to our house.  We had brunch planned as well as coloring eggs.  Mom did not want to eat till later in the afternoon so we started the egg coloring.

Not sure who enjoys coloring the eggs more?  Mom or Brendan?

We had a great meal and a good visit with mom. Still hard for us not having Dad there.  This past Thursday was a year that he had passed.

After taking mom home Michelle and I did some shopping and got home late.  We got the kids to bed and then put together the Easter baskets.

Sunday morning we slept in a bit until Brendan woke us up.  He was really excited to get the day started.  The kids went through their Easter baskets and Michelle made biscuits and gravy.  After our breakfast we went to church.  After church it was on to mom and dad's house.

We had a very good meal and then it was time for the Easter egg hunt.
Get ready!

Hunting!

The big find!

We had a really nice time with our family.  Then it was home to settle in for the evening.  A very nice Easter celebration.  Lets not forget the true meaning of Easter.  Jesus Christ died for our sins so that we may have eternal life with him and our Father!

God Bless everyone!

Summer Vacation Day 4: The ER

Day four started out with beautiful weather.  We had breakfast and Michelle took Brendan fishing.  I decided I would take a ride on the bike and do a little recon for a family bike ride. I set off east to ride toward Rapid River.  I rode around the the edge of the bay and took a few pictures. Dunes on the edge of Gladstone. This was around 4-5 miles out of town in a small subdivision. The photo above is of a small river I crossed, unfortunately I cannot remember the name.  I thought I found a bike trail that would be nice for all of us.  Unfortunately it was swampy and not kept up.  I headed back to Gladstone and met Michelle and Brendan out on the fishing dock. I sat with them for a while and Brendan caught this. This is a Gobi.  An invasive species of the Great Lakes. After a few minutes I started back to the house.  On the way I started to have some chest pain.  After showering it had not let up. ...

They come in several colors. These are red and will go on the wheels that I have on the Vortex.  They are light weight, easy to work with and very durable.  I have these in various colors on most of my fat bike wheels.   Topeak Joe Blow Fat Tire Pump:  Following is from the Topeak Website: JoeBlow™ Fat The first floor pump exclusively designed for low pressure fat tire bikes. Independence Day

Another busy weekend and celebration of our country's independence.  I got a short ride in on Friday morning.  We then were preparing for a wedding.  Barb and Steve, a couple at our church were getting married and the ceremony/reception would be at Dawn and Reuben's house.  Reuben performed the ceremony and I was asked to do the photography.  This worked out great as I had purchased a used Sony DSLR camera on eBay and got to test it out.  It was a very nice ceremony and celebration with our church family and friends.   You may kiss the bride!   We then stuck around and all of us went to the fireworks at the Clio Park to cap off the evening.  We got home late and went right to bed.   I slept in a bit on Saturday morning and got up to watch the start of the Tour de France.  It was a good stage with a sprint finish and a bad crash that took Mark Cavendish out of the race.  I then ventured out on a 23 mile ride o...
