Fat Bike Ordered

I ordered the BikesDirect Fat Bike yesterday. Today I received my order confirmation from BikesDirect. They also provided a tracking number and a shipping date of February 18!   Motobecane FB4 Comp I am in between sizes with my height so I went with the smaller frame (17").  So if I were to get another Fat Bike in the future Michelle or JJ would be able to ride this one also.  I have some parts that I will swap out for upgrades and will need to purchase a few things also. Great price on this bike and with the upgrades will have a great bike for half the price of a Pugsley!

EXPO 2014

Sunday morning came very early and JJ and I were both up and on our way to Birch Run to meet Raymond and Alexander.  We found them at McDonald's, had a quick breakfast and we were on our way to East Lansing.  Somewhere around Flint we started to see snow and it got pretty heavy by the time we got to East Lansing.  We arrived at MSU with time to spare and were able to drive in to the arena, unload and leave the van inside! We had plenty of time to set up and they even gave us an extra table.  We had everything up and ready with time to spare. Don and Cory arrived early.   This had to be the smallest expo ever.  Not sure how much the weather had to do with it?  But Don walked out empty handed, which is very unusual.  There were only a handful of bike shops present also. There were a few Fat Bikes on display.   KHS Four Season Specialized Fatboy Charge Cooker   I bought a pair of bib shorts and a couple tubes f...

All Things Bike

Tomorrow is the Michigan Bicycle EXPO, formerly the Michigan Mountain Bike EXPO.  I have all my stuff together and ready to go.  I have my price list set and tables reserved.  JJ and I will be meeting Raymond and Alexander in Birch Run.  Then off to Michigan State University.  I will post tomorrow on how it went. If I sell enough at the EXPO I will be buying my Fat Bike next week.  I have it narrowed down to a Motobecane through BikesDirect or a Framed from the House Outdoor Gear.  The Motobecane is a little less and the Framed comes with an extra set of wheels.  The Framed also has 170 rear spacing which is a plus.  How much I make tomorrow will determine what I get. The other day someone that works with my wife stopped me and asked me if I was interested in an old road bike he had hanging in his garage.  The answer obviously was yes!  He brought it in the  next day and I loaded it in the van.   Panasonic roa...

Happy New Year

Hard to believe we are 14 days into 2014.  So a little behind on this post.  We had our annual New Years party with our biking friends.  The Stange's, Leach's, Garcia's, Mark and Ann all made it.  We had our fiesta feast which is a big hit, which meant plenty of left overs for New Years Day.     The Ladys The Men   We all had a lot of fun for the New Year and all of us agreed that we need to do this in the summer so we can have a bike ride and a cook out.  Hopefully we can pull it off?     We then had some really cold temperatures and a snow storm.  It was some of the coldest weather we have had in many years and the biggest snow storm since 1998.  We had around 18 inches of snow.  This was again followed by some very cold temperatures.  Below zero at night and only single digits during the day.  With wind chill it was as low as 30 below.   Eventually it warmed up and we got some r...
