Summer Vacation Day 3: Travel Day

We were the last ones to check out of the Ceder Motor Inn in Marquette on Sunday. We were heading to our next destination, Gladstone, Michigan. We are renting a house for a week.

Our first stop was Wendy's for a little snack and then we went to downtown Marquette to do a little shopping. We spent some time there and did one last drive through Preque Isle. We then stopped by the old lighthouse for a bit.

Next leg of the road trip was to Munising for lunch. We stopped at Johnny Dog's and enjoyed gourmet hot dogs, taco's and Red Neck Fries. Very good food.

We left Munising enroute to the house in Gladstone. We arrived and unpacked all of our stuff so we could settle in. After unpacking Michelle headed for the Meijer in Escanaba to get supplies and I took Brendan out fishing. He caught a Rock Bass. We also so a beautiful sunset.

We returned to the house as it got dark and Michelle returned from shopping. That was our day.

Introducing!

Summer Vacation Day 4: The ER

Day four started out with beautiful weather. We had breakfast and Michelle took Brendan fishing. I decided I would take a ride on the bike and do a little recon for a family bike ride. I set off east to ride toward Rapid River. I rode around the the edge of the bay and took a few pictures. Dunes on the edge of Gladstone. This was around 4-5 miles out of town in a small subdivision. The photo above is of a small river I crossed, unfortunately I cannot remember the name. I thought I found a bike trail that would be nice for all of us. Unfortunately it was swampy and not kept up. I headed back to Gladstone and met Michelle and Brendan out on the fishing dock. I sat with them for a while and Brendan caught this. This is a Gobi. An invasive species of the Great Lakes. Vacation 2016, Day 5

Got a little behind here with downloading photos and our last travel day. So going to catch up over the next couple days. When I wrap up with the final day I will also give out some of my opinion on the venues we were at. Day 5 (Thursday) was definitely the best day of our vacation. Michelle, Brenda and I were the first ones up and we went down to iHop, which was in the lobby of the hotel. We quickly discovered how expensive it is to eat in Canada. Breakfast was very good, however seemed to be twice as much as we would spend at home. We took our leftovers back to the rooms and Jay Jay and Kayla ate, then we headed out. Walking from the hotel the falls were only 10-15 minutes away. The city of Niagara Falls, Canada is very nice, the sun was out and the temperature was perfect. Great weather for a walk around town.
