Vacation Day One

Our day started out early as Brendan was up at 6am.  I got up as I was having problems sleeping.  I started some coffee, Brendan and MacKenzie headed out fishing.

I left the cabin shortly after 8am with a list and was headed back home.  I returned around 10:30am and then ended up with this.
 
The Goose is back together.
 
I had all the parts at home that I needed to put the Goose back together.  I also picked up some supplies that we needed.
Michelle headed out to Meijer then to get the rest of the supplies for Church Camp and I took the bike out for a ride. I got a good 13 mile ride in.  A storm came through in the middle of the afternoon and I ended up catching a short nap before supper.
 
Michelle's parents came out and we had a very nice meal and spent some time with them.

The Goose family returned during the storm.
 
We had some severe storms after dark and our pop broke.  We will be making a trip to Menards to see if they will replace the top. 
 
The campers arrive today. It can only get better.

Summer Vacation Day 4: The ER

Day four started out with beautiful weather.  We had breakfast and Michelle took Brendan fishing.  I decided I would take a ride on the bike and do a little recon for a family bike ride. I set off east to ride toward Rapid River.  I rode around the the edge of the bay and took a few pictures. Dunes on the edge of Gladstone. This was around 4-5 miles out of town in a small subdivision. The photo above is of a small river I crossed, unfortunately I cannot remember the name.  I thought I found a bike trail that would be nice for all of us.  Unfortunately it was swampy and not kept up.  I headed back to Gladstone and met Michelle and Brendan out on the fishing dock. I sat with them for a while and Brendan caught this. This is a Gobi.  An invasive species of the Great Lakes. Vacation 2016, Day 5

Got a little behind here with downloading photos and our last travel day.  So going to catch up over the next couple days.  When I wrap up with the final day I will also give out some  of my opinion on the venues we were at.  Day 5 (Thursday) was definitely the best day of our vacation.  Michelle, Brenda and I were the first ones up and we went down to iHop, which was in the lobby of the hotel.  We quickly discovered how expensive it is to eat in Canada.  Breakfast was very good, however seemed to be twice as much as we would spend at home.  We took our leftovers back to the rooms and Jay Jay and Kayla ate, then we headed out. Walking from the hotel the falls were only 10-15 minutes away.  The city of Niagara Falls, Canada is very nice, the sun was out and the temperature was perfect.  Great weather for a walk around town.
