Happy Anniversary Michelle!

Today is our 5th Wedding Anniversary!  Hard to believe we have been married for five years.  Doesn't seem like it.  The years are passing way to fast.  Could not imagine being without Michelle and the boys.  It seems like we have been married our whole lives.  Everything that happened before them does not matter.  I thank God everyday for this incredible blessing!

Michelle had planned out a very nice Anniversary for us.  We left work early yesterday and headed for Lake Orion.  We stayed at the Palace Inn near the Palace of Auburn Hills.  Not the nicest place we have ever stayed, but it wasn't horrible.  Michelle had got me a gift certificate for 51 North Brewing.  We arrived there in the early evening and found a nice table.  The brewery was different than most we have been to.  It was not very busy and our waitress was very good.  We got our drink order in right away and then ordered appetizers.

Our drink samplers.

My Selections.

Beer Bites on Broadway appetizer. This was awesome.

My beautiful and incredible wife!  I love you!

We ordered our sandwiches, which came out quickly.  I had their version of a Cuban sandwich.  It was really good.  Michelle had a chicken sandwich that also tasted very good.  People came and went as we ate and enjoyed each others company.  We finished up and headed back to the hotel for the night.

We got up at a decent time on our anniversary and went down for breakfast.  We spent some more time in our room and then headed out for the day.  We went to On the Border for lunch and then headed into Great Lakes Crossing.  We walked around and did some shopping.

We spotted a giant giraffe.

We didn't realize JJ had a Driving School?

We went to the Theatre and saw God's Not Dead!  This was an awesome movie that I recommend to everyone!  This was made by Pure Flix.  We have watched several of their movies.  This one was the best yet!  I won't say anymore because I would not want to ruin it for you.  Please see it whether you believe or not.

After the movie we did a little more shopping and stopped for some ice cream.  I had Peanut Butter Brownie, Michelle had Peanut Butter Brownie and Birthday Cake.  Yum!

We headed for home and stopped in Clio to pick up Chinese food to take home so we did not have to cook.  We got home, ate and settled in for the night.  A nice relaxing end to a great day.

Thank you God for bringing Michelle and the boys into my life!  Thank you Michelle for being my wife, a wonderful mother and a great woman of God!  I Love You!

Summer Vacation Day 4: The ER

Day four started out with beautiful weather.  We had breakfast and Michelle took Brendan fishing.  I decided I would take a ride on the bike and do a little recon for a family bike ride. I set off east to ride toward Rapid River.  I rode around the the edge of the bay and took a few pictures. Dunes on the edge of Gladstone. This was around 4-5 miles out of town in a small subdivision. The photo above is of a small river I crossed, unfortunately I cannot remember the name.  I thought I found a bike trail that would be nice for all of us.  Unfortunately it was swampy and not kept up.  I headed back to Gladstone and met Michelle and Brendan out on the fishing dock. I sat with them for a while and Brendan caught this. This is a Gobi.  An invasive species of the Great Lakes. After a few minutes I started back to the house.  On the way I started to have some chest pain.  After showering it had not let up. ...

Independence Day

Another busy weekend and celebration of our country's independence.  I got a short ride in on Friday morning.  We then were preparing for a wedding.  Barb and Steve, a couple at our church were getting married and the ceremony/reception would be at Dawn and Reuben's house.  Reuben performed the ceremony and I was asked to do the photography.  This worked out great as I had purchased a used Sony DSLR camera on eBay and got to test it out.  It was a very nice ceremony and celebration with our church family and friends.   You may kiss the bride!   We then stuck around and all of us went to the fireworks at the Clio Park to cap off the evening.  We got home late and went right to bed.   I slept in a bit on Saturday morning and got up to watch the start of the Tour de France.  It was a good stage with a sprint finish and a bad crash that took Mark Cavendish out of the race.  I then ventured out on a 23 mile ride o...

They come in several colors. These are red and will go on the wheels that I have on the Vortex.  They are light weight, easy to work with and very durable.  I have these in various colors on most of my fat bike wheels.   Topeak Joe Blow Fat Tire Pump:  Following is from the Topeak Website: JoeBlow™ Fat The first floor pump exclusively designed for low pressure fat tire bikes.
